I'm a stereotypical broke college kid.
While I've kept some dignity--meaning I have yet to turn to eating Top Ramen from a coffee mug--I realize that my obsession with makeup and hair products cannot continue in the pricey way it had before.
Before I transferred colleges and could actually afford to buy my own makeup, I had splurged hundreds on eyelash extensions, Sephora, MAC, and expensive salon treatments. Granted, it was fun while it lasted and I still have copious amounts of product left from my spending days, I'm now left to try and find those beauty bargains at my local Rite Aid.
Not saying that I never used drugstore or super cheap makeup before because prior to getting a job that was all I ever used. I get all of my foundation and skin makeup from drugstores because I go through that so quickly so it's pointless for me to spend a whopping fifty bucks on something that will last me a month max.
But now I have to adjust my usual makeup inventory a bit and start using those dupes I see posted on Pinterest.
So now that we've established my deep love of expensive makeup I cannot afford, it's probably best to tell you all a little about myself.
My name is Becca. I'm a junior in college, majoring in Public Relations. I'm part of my uni's theatre club and their PRSSA program. I love journalism; I write the occasional article or two for my school's newspaper. My passion in life, however, is studying American Sign Language and learning more about Deaf culture. I volunteer at the local school for the Deaf and am constantly trying to grow as a signer and a person by exploring the Deaf community. My goal is to get to the point where I can make YouTube videos for hair, makeup, etc in ASL. We'll have to see, though!
My blog is basically going to be beauty and health-centered. I'm currently starting a healthy lifestyle change to eat better and workout, so expect some posts on that. I want to do a lot of reviews, makeup and hair tutorials, and incorporate cheaper alternatives to high-end makeup. I have two beautiful roommates that have different coloring and hair types that I plan on using for some tutorials so I can reach a bigger audience!
Anyway, look for my upcoming posts! I'll be posting on a daily basis!
